A couple of shots from last weekend, on a bike ride along the water:
It started out nice and sunny and warm.
It started out nice and sunny and warm.
And then the fog rolled in to where I was going, and the temperature dropped quite a bit, and I headed for the warmth of home!
The Vancouver Boat Show was this weekend, at BC Place and Granville Island. I spent all my time at Granville Island, where they had the bigger boats in the water, going through the yacht and sailboats, and never made it to BC Place, where they have the ski boats, small sailboats, seminars, wake-boarding dogs, kayak tryouts, and all the boating related gadgets and paraphernalia you could ever imagine.
A luxurious master suite. You have to get into one of the large yachts before it starts feeling spacious enough to spend much time on - the sailboats that I liked the look of were prett-y cramped inside!! Having to crawl into bed from the end, and then bump your head if you were to sit up in bed would feel a bit too claustrophobic. Chances are, I won't have to concern myself with such problems anytime soon!!
This search and rescue boat has the crew's seats suspended on shock absorbers, to soften the impact of racing through the waves - very cool - never seen that before!
They were offering free 30 minute rides on a choice of boats, from a 'tug boat' style yacht, to a small inflatable, to a 24' sailboat. I chose the sail - it was a pretty short time, and we only used the small sail, but it was a good time!
