Today we spent a few hours at Burnaby Village Museum. They've got a bunch of old buildings, arranged as a small village, and people in period costumes doing their best to pretend it's still 1920 or so. It was a gorgeous day, and we quite enjoyed the place!
They've got a blacksmith shop, and have courses where you can go spend some time heating and hammering steel. Awfully tempting!
One of their most treasured features is a fully restored and working carousel from 1912. It's a beauty!
A Wurlitzer Band Organ plays a charming accompaniment to the carousel, complete with drums & cymbals, xylophone, and organ.
Awfully hard to get a good photo while riding the thing!!
Another highlight is a fully restored tram, that used to run from Vancouver to some of the suburbs.
The seats are covered in rattan, which was nice and cool in the heat of summer.
And the fall colours were beautiful too!

But of course! What would a farm workshop be without an anvil!? That thing has taken a lot of beating.
