Quartier Latin

We spent some time today poking around the Latin quarter of town. I can't say we really saw all that much specifically Latin, but it was fascinating, nevertheless!

An old beauty of a mansion on Sherbrooke St.

The amount of detail on the old buildings continues to amaze me!
This little old building was standing all by itself in a large open parking area - looked like a brave little building!
The graffiti is incredible - I don't know how these guys can get so much time to do this, without being hassled by 'the man'.

This is in the main library, a beautiful new building (by a B.C. architect).

An exhibit in the library - this was made from a bunch of old Science text-books, cut and, I assume, sand-blasted to form an amazing sculpture!

Were you the BC architect? Just wondering. That science textbook sculpture is awesome.

No kidding - those are industrious graffiti artists. I see you have the same "Cruze" billboards as here - always reminds us of baby Cruz.

They remind me of Penelope Cruz.

In reference to your prior post, I always say "Subletting Jenn and Dan's apt..." Did you ever figure out the answer?

LOVE that house at the top of this post!! there was a time in my life when I really would have liked to own and live in a house like that! Not anymore!

How do you feel about copious amounts of graffiti,no matter how talented the artist?

Heh, good one with the billboard! I hadn't taken note of it before.

No real answer with 'sublet' - but I've been sleeping ok in spite of that!

Um, well, the graffiti has to be of at least reasonable quality. And it should be in a suitable location. Like a back alley. Someone else's back alley, preferably. Does that answer your question? Do you need some paint remover?
