This past weekend was the Santa Claus parade. The day started out bitter, windy, and sleeting. By the time 11am had rolled around, the sky was perfectly clear, although it was still rather chilly and breezy, but the organizers will have breathed a big sigh of relief!! Not to mention the thousands of parents...

Clever little renovation of a bus!

Large-scale marionettes - the wind was making them a bit of a handful!

The elves were busy gathering up letters for Santa, thus bypassing Canada Post completely - probably a bit more reliable!

Bonhomme made an appearance, without the briefcase full of cash that Macleans was portraying him with on their cover.

I accidentally bumped the settings dial on my camera to "TV" mode. I kinda like the result!

The big guy himself. I think all these cops were abusing their position, and just getting their wishes to him ahead of everyone else. Hmph.

You know, even as a kid I never liked Santa Claus parades. I think it was the fact that they were in Winnipeg winters. I hated being cold. Still do. Maybe if there was a parade in Hawaii, I'd don a pair of green flip flops and head on out.
