We have arrived in Montreal! We're a little stunned right now - not quite knowing what hit us. We're settling in to our apartment, and starting to get to know the neighbourhood a bit. We plan on doing one of those double-decker tour bus trips tomorrow, mostly because we've seen them coming down our little wiggle of a street, and it looks like a bit of an adrenelin rush!
First shot of Montreal, with the Olympic stadium (known locally as "The Big Owe").
Our neighbourhood is between downtown and Mont Royal - in this view, it's just on the other side of the mountain.
The first of many photos I'll be taking of old buildings (don't worry, I won't post them all). We walked around the old city last night, and almost strained our necks looking around at the amazingly beautiful and ornate structures!
We ended off the evening at this beautiful little courtyard restaurant in the old city - it was a wonderful start to our year here!!

Looks amazing so far!! I'm so excited for you guys and jealous you get to discover and experience a whole new city! Looking forward to you sharing it here.
Yeah for you Daniel and your lovely wife....whose name is escaping me right now, but I am hoping it will come to me before I finish this comment.
I don't mind seeing all your pics of old buildings. You should see our friends and family whip through our 8000 kirche shots from Germany...ahem.
"Is this the same church?" they ask.
What a lovely little courtyard restaurant. I too am jealous...Montreal is a place that I really want to visit. We're hoping to roadtrip there next summer. Have a great year!

And dang it, I still can't remember your wife's name.
