Family Time part 2

After the family weekend, I went with Janet & Bob and the girls to their cottage for a few days.

One of the first tasks was making a label for my drinking cup - so as to avoid having to do too many dishes.  I was expecting a piece of masking tape and a marker, but Bailey got out the label maker, and stepped it up a notch!

(that's a bike and a sailboat next to my name)

We had perfect weather while there, and enjoyed a nice big moon.

In exchange for room & board (and unlimited water-skiing, tubing, and sailing), I built a table to accompany the new benches on the dock.

It's always a highlight of my trip to spend some time at the lake with Janet & family, and I always feel very fortunate to get that opportunity!!

Some other random bits from my visit:

Greg & Joan stopped by Mom & Dad's place on their great looking bike.

My nephew Jordan has a vacant property near Rosenort - I like the sign he put up!

Jim, having too much fun at Ellen's!  At least he got some rest.

Spencer made an awesome Olympics Lego scene, with boxing, fencing, diving, judo, parallel bars, pommel horse, and hurdles, as well as the cauldron and a medal ceremony (complete with country flags on the podium) - very impressive!

The day before I left, Mom & Dad and I went to a nearby lake, and had a nice little bike ride around.  It was another gorgeous day, and we quite enjoyed it.

On the day I left, most of the family got together for a picnic in Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg.

A bunch of us went to check out the sculpture garden, and on the way back, we felt a bit like ducklings following their mother, so Ellen led us on a nice little meandering walk back to the picnic site - rather amusing!

It was so great to spend so much time with my family - I'm appreciating them and the time more and more each year.  Guess that's how it works.

I'm already looking forward to next time!
