LU #31

Let's hope we never need to use this.

And, to finish the Looking Up series, another shot, from my archives, of that office building with the curved front that I finished my last project with.

(that's a very awkward sounding sentence - my editor would be appalled, if I had one)

Thank goodness for no editors - I would long have been fired.

I like the glass shelf picture. I studied it for quite some time.

Looking forward to the next photo series...

#1 photo--that looks like quite a drop.
#2 photo--that sounded like a challenge I can't resist. A quick fix would be to replace "that" with "with which" and delete the dangling preposition "with" at the end. (I apologize: it's a compulsive habit--I practice on menus, signs, etc.)

Hahahahahaha! I bet Julie makes a very fun date!

Kidding, Julie! I do the same thing...but not QUITE to the same extent!!

Daniel, however would Bella get down that ladder?

how ever?

Thanks for the suggestion, Julie - I knew I could count on you!

Sio, I really don't want to think about how we'd 1.Get the cat carrier down from it's storage space without having Bella high-tail (low-tail, more likely) it under the bed, 2.Get her into the cat carrier in an emergency situation, and 3.Carry the cat carrier containing a 13 lb+ stressed feline down a sketchy ladder. Like I say, I hope we never have to attempt that exercise.

Ironically, this morning at 5am (I don't know why Bella hadn't woken Jenn by that time) both Jenn and I sniffed the air, then sat up and got out of bed to investigate the smell of smoke, not having yet spoken a word, just walking around, sniffing. Weird. After Jenn had gotten dressed and walked around the house outside and not found any sign of our house being in flame, we decided that with the breeze we had, it may have been the the two-alarm fire at a truck plant in Surrey.

Thanks, L, I was very happy to see that vase arrangement at our friends' place - I was running a bit low on creative, interesting subjects to shoot up. As evidenced by the escape ladder.

Thank heavens it was nothing...affecting you guys anyway! And that would have been spooky seeing the two of you walking around sniffing the air and not speaking!

Isn't that clever? L started with "fired" and Dan brought it back around to "no(t) fire(d)."

Haha, Siobhan, "fun" is in the eye of the beholder. Just thinking of "Dauphins Red Cab's and Couriers'" painted on the side of a taxi many years ago still makes me smile.

That's really obscure, Julie - that must have taken a bit of effort! I'm just glad you haven't pointed out the stray apostrophe in my last comment. I'm guessing it's been bugging you though. ;-)

You mean the "it's" instead of "its"? Actually, no--missed it until now. Must have become desensitized from reading newspapers over the weekend.

LOL!
