BLDG #17

This was a former nurses' residence, across the street from the hospital, built in 1948. After sitting empty for a number of years, it was redeveloped into condos, after demolishing the wings that were added later. The only exterior part of the old building can be seen in the first photo, the whole big face on the left. There's a day-care centre in the lowest level, with a lovely looking play area that makes me wish I was in the appropriate age category.

I think they did a great job of restoring the old and incorporating a sympathetic new building. And it adds a lovely green space to the area.
