Big ol' abandoned industrial building, with a reindeer on the roof. Only reason condos haven't been built here yet is that the ground is probably highly contaminated. But it'll happen, most likely before 2010.
I always feel sorry for old buildings, especially the ones that have had their eyes punched out. It seems it would be more humane just to get it over and done with. Pathetic fallacy, I know.
Well, I don't know what the condos would be going for, but a block away, the "last waterfront community" and the site of the athletes' village, has small one-bedrooms starting at $460k on ground that was probably even more contaminated. They dig it all up and 'cleanse' it. The first phase is sold out, so you'll have to get in line for the next sales next month.

That is a really cool building! Add I agree with Julie - old buildings are sad. They have so many stories. I always imagine them in their glory.
How much will the condos that will eventually be situated on the contaminated ground sell for? sign me up.
Ditto on the pity for old buildings and how sad they must have felt when their last tenants moved out.
I love the building pictures - maybe I'll copy you sometime.
I'd love to see you do building pictures, L!
